01 The short version
- We do not upload your images, PDFs, or any file you process. Every operation runs in your browser.
- We do not require accounts, sign-ups, email addresses, or any personal information to use Editryk.
- We do not use cookies for tracking. Your browser stores a single
themepreference in localStorage. - We do use privacy-respecting, anonymous analytics (Umami) to count page views on editryk.com. No personal data is collected or sold.
- If you don't trust us, you can verify everything by inspecting your browser's network tab while using a tool — you'll see no file upload to any Editryk endpoint.
02 Information we don't collect
The vast majority of online image and PDF tools work by uploading your files to a server, processing them there, and sending the result back. Editryk does not. Every Editryk tool runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Specifically, we never collect, transmit, or store:
- The images, PDFs, or any other files you process
- The contents, text, or metadata of those files
- Passwords you enter when unlocking or protecting a PDF
- Signature images you stamp onto PDFs
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Payment information (Editryk is free; we don't process payments)
- Government identifiers, biometric data, or health information
03 Information we do collect
To improve the site and understand which tools are useful, we collect a small amount of anonymous traffic data via Umami Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics service. Specifically:
- The page URL you visited (e.g.
/tools/compress-image) - The referring page (where you came from)
- An anonymized country, browser, and operating system (derived from request headers, not stored as PII)
- The session date and a hashed visit identifier (rotated daily, cannot be used to identify you across visits)
Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. The data we receive is fully anonymous and aggregated. We use it solely to understand which tools are popular and to fix bugs.
05 Third-party services
Editryk uses the following third-party services. None of them receive your files; some receive a request from your browser to load static assets:
- Umami Analytics (
cloud.umami.is) — anonymous traffic counting. Loaded only oneditryk.com. - Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com) — serves the Inter font used across the site. Google may log the IP address of your browser when fetching the font. - Cloudflare CDN (
cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — serves a stylesheet used by the image cropper. Cloudflare may log the IP address of your browser when fetching the stylesheet. - jsDelivr CDN (used by the AI Background Remover and PDF rendering) — serves the WebAssembly models and PDF rendering worker.
These services are used purely to deliver static assets to your browser. Your files are never sent to them.
06 How we keep your data safe
Because Editryk does not collect, transmit, or store your files, there is no Editryk-side risk of your documents being intercepted, leaked in a database breach, or accessed by Editryk staff. The strongest privacy guarantee is the absence of data — and that's what we offer.
Your files are processed entirely in your browser's memory and discarded when you close the tab or navigate away. We do not retain copies, do not generate logs containing your file contents, and do not share anything with third parties.
07 Children's privacy
Editryk does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under the relevant age in your jurisdiction). Because we do not require accounts or collect personal data, the site is safe to use at any age. If you believe a child has provided personal information through some interaction we have not anticipated, please contact us so we can investigate.
08 International users & data transfers
Editryk works the same way everywhere — your files stay on your device regardless of where you are. The only data transferred internationally is the anonymous analytics ping to Umami's servers and the static asset fetches described in the Third-party services section. None of these transfers include your files or any personal information.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, or another region with strong privacy laws, this notice and Editryk's "no data collection by design" approach are designed to comply with the GDPR, UK GDPR, FADP, CCPA/CPRA, and similar regulations.
09 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, to reflect new tools, a new analytics provider, or a change in third-party services. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be highlighted in a banner on the site for at least 30 days.
We will never expand the scope of data collection retroactively without explicit notice.
10 Contact us
If you have a question about this policy or about how Editryk handles data, you can reach us by email at contact@editryk.com. Because we don't collect any personal information from you, we may not be able to respond to certain requests (for example, "delete all my data") — but only because there is no data on our side to delete.
