- 2
Pick the output format
Choose JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, GIF, or ICO. The same target format applies to every image in the batch.
- 3
Convert and download
Hit Convert. Each image is re-encoded with format-specific quality settings. Download a single file or grab the entire batch as a ZIP.
Image format reference
Pick the right output format for the job. Lossy formats throw away invisible detail to save space; lossless formats preserve every pixel.

Who uses an online image converter?
Web developers convert legacy JPGs and PNGs to WebP or AVIF for smaller bundles and better Core Web Vitals scores.
Designers swap between PNG (working files), JPG (client deliverables), and WebP (final web export) without leaving the browser.
Windows developers generate ICO files for application icons and browser favicons in seconds.
Print prep specialists convert WebP and AVIF web images back to TIFF for print pipelines that require lossless input.
Bloggers and content creators convert iPhone screenshots and downloads from any format into the JPG or WebP that the CMS expects.
Email marketers convert WebP and AVIF (which Outlook still doesn't support) back to JPG so newsletters render everywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing about converting between formats.
How do I convert JPG to PNG (or PNG to JPG)?
Drop the JPG into the converter, pick PNG as the target format, click Convert. JPG → PNG preserves quality and adds support for transparency. PNG → JPG flattens transparency to white and produces a much smaller file.
What's the best format for the web?
WebP for nearly all use cases — supported in every modern browser and 25–35% smaller than JPG at equivalent visual quality. AVIF compresses tighter still (up to 50% smaller) but encodes more slowly. JPG is the universal fallback. PNG is for screenshots, icons, and anything that needs transparency.
Can I convert images in bulk?
Yes. Drop in dozens or hundreds of images at once. They all convert to the same target format and download together as a single ZIP.
Will conversion lose image quality?
Lossy → lossy conversions (JPG → WebP, JPG → AVIF) re-encode and may lose a small amount of quality. Lossy → lossless (JPG → PNG) preserves what's already there but won't recover detail. Lossless → lossless (PNG → WebP-lossless) is byte-equivalent.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using native canvas APIs and custom binary encoders for non-native formats (BMP, TIFF, ICO, GIF). Files never leave your device.
Why does my PNG become much smaller as a JPG?
PNG is lossless and stores every pixel exactly — that's expensive for photographs. JPG uses lossy compression that throws away imperceptible detail, so a 5 MB PNG photo often becomes a 400 KB JPG with no visible difference.
Can I convert SVG to PNG or JPG?
Yes. The converter rasterizes SVG vector files at the resolution you specify, producing a PNG or JPG bitmap. Useful for sharing on platforms that don't accept SVG (most social media, email).
Can I convert ICO files for favicons?
Yes. Convert any image to ICO and the tool generates a multi-resolution favicon (16, 32, 48 px). Drop it into your site's root or wire it up via a link tag in your HTML.
Does it work on PDF files?
Yes — PDFs are accepted as input and the converter renders each page to your chosen image format, packaged as a ZIP. For dedicated PDF-to-image workflows, see the PDF to JPG, PDF to PNG, and PDF to WebP tools.
What about HEIC photos from iPhone?
If your browser previews HEIC natively (Safari does), the converter will read it. Chrome and Firefox don't support HEIC — convert to JPG first using a desktop tool, or open the photo in Safari.
