Frequently asked questions

Everything worth knowing before you crop your first PDF.

How do I trim white margins from a PDF?

Drop your PDF in, drag the bounding box to exclude the white space, then click Crop. The result has trimmed page dimensions and downloads in seconds.

Can I crop all pages at once?

Yes. Set a single crop region and apply it across every page. Perfect for trimming uniform margins from scanned books or printed reports.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser. Documents never leave your device.

Does cropping make the PDF smaller?

Cropping changes the page's visible area but typically doesn't shrink file size by much — the underlying content (images, fonts) is still embedded. To actually reduce file size, run the cropped PDF through the Compress PDF tool.

Will text and hyperlinks survive the crop?

Yes. Text remains selectable, hyperlinks remain clickable, and form fields keep their state. Only the visible page boundaries change.

Can I crop different regions per page?

Yes. Switch from "apply to all" to per-page mode and set a custom crop box for each page individually.

Why are my cropped pages still showing the trimmed content when zoomed in some viewers?

Some PDF viewers display content outside the crop box when fully zoomed. The crop box defines the default visible area, not a destructive trim. To permanently remove content outside the crop, re-export the cropped PDF through a flatten step or print-to-PDF.

Can I crop a password-protected PDF?

Unlock it first using the Unlock PDF tool (you must know the password), then crop the unlocked copy.
