Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you pull your first set of pages.
How is extracting different from splitting a PDF?
Splitting produces multiple output files (one per range or per page). Extracting produces a single new PDF containing only the pages you picked, in the order you picked them.
Can I extract specific pages by number?
Yes. Type ranges like "1-3, 5, 8-10" or click thumbnails. Both methods produce the same result. Order in the output matches order of selection.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The entire extraction runs in your browser. Documents never leave your device — safe for confidential records.
Is there a page count or file size limit?
No fixed cap. PDFs of any reasonable size work. The practical ceiling is your browser's RAM — modern laptops handle 1000+ page PDFs without issue.
Will the extracted pages keep their original quality?
Yes. Extraction copies pages byte-for-byte from the source. Image quality, fonts, hyperlinks, and embedded form fields are all preserved.
Can I extract pages from a password-protected PDF?
Unlock the PDF first using the Unlock PDF tool (you must know the password), then extract pages from the unlocked copy.
Do hyperlinks and form fields survive the extraction?
Yes — hyperlinks within extracted pages remain clickable. Form fields keep their state. Cross-page bookmarks are dropped if the target page isn't included in the extraction.
Can I reorder pages while extracting?
Yes. Click pages in the order you want them to appear in the output. The extracted PDF reflects your selection order, not the original page order.
