Visual cropping with free-form or preset ratios — Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok and more. 100% private, runs in your browser.
How to crop an image
Drop in a photo, pick a ratio, drag to frame. Done in three clicks.
- 1
Drop your image
Drag and drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, or BMP into the dropzone. Files stay on your device — there's no upload.
- 2
Pick a ratio or drag freely
Choose 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, or 9:16 — or pick a social preset (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok). Drag the bounding box to position, drag the corners to resize.
- 3
Crop and download
Hit Crop. Output preview shows the new dimensions. Download as JPG, PNG, or WebP — same format as the input by default.

Pick a preset to lock the aspect ratio, then drag the bounding box freely. Output dimensions match the listed sizes when you use the locked-pixel social presets.

Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you make your first crop.
How do I crop an image to a square (1:1)?
Drop your image in, click the "1:1 Square" preset (or choose "Instagram Square" for 1080×1080 fixed dimensions). Drag the bounding box anywhere on the image, then click Crop.
Can I crop to specific pixel dimensions?
Yes. Pick a ratio preset that matches your target (e.g. 16:9 for 1920×1080, 9:16 for 1080×1920) and the cropper enforces that ratio. For exact pixel output, use the social-media presets — they include locked dimensions.
What aspect ratios are available?
Free-form (no constraint), 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:2, and 2:3 — plus social media presets for Instagram (Square, Portrait, Story), Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and standard 4×6 photo prints.
Can I crop multiple images at once?
The cropper is built for precise, single-image work — each image typically needs its own framing decision. For batch operations on already-cropped images, use the Resize or Compress tools.
Is the cropped image lower quality than the original?
No — cropping just removes pixels outside the bounding box. The pixels inside are unchanged. Re-encoding to JPG may add light compression; re-encoding to PNG or WebP-lossless is byte-equivalent inside the crop area.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping happens locally inside your browser via HTML Canvas. Files never leave your device, which makes the tool safe for sensitive screenshots, ID scans, and unreleased assets.
Can I undo a crop?
The crop applied in the tool only outputs a new file — your original on disk is never modified. Drop the original back in to start over.
Does it preserve transparency?
Yes. Transparent PNGs stay transparent through the crop. WebP also preserves alpha. Cropping a PNG and saving as JPG flattens transparency to white.
What's the maximum image size I can crop?
There's no fixed cap. Modern browsers handle 8000×8000 pixel images smoothly. Hardware canvases top out around 8192–16384 pixels per side; beyond that the browser silently downscales the preview.
